YOUR RECENT EMPLOYER
Your new employer is an established infrastructure services business with a strong track record across rail, plant, labour and specialist construction projects throughout Australia.
The business already has the platform required to grow, including a flexible national workforce, more than 100 assets across the group, approximately 40 to 50 items of operational plant, an established estimating team and project capability across Newcastle, Sydney, Melbourne and Western Australia.
The next phase is about taking that capability into broader civil and infrastructure markets, with emerging opportunities already developing across the data centre sector and further potential across renewable energy and transmission infrastructure.

YOUR NEW ROLE
This is an opportunity to move beyond simply being handed the next project and instead have real influence over where the work comes from, which opportunities are pursued and how the business grows once those projects are won.
You will work closely with the Managing Director to help establish and grow the next part of the business. The initial focus will be on identifying where the strongest opportunities sit across data centres, renewables and transmission, developing relationships with key clients and delivery partners.
You will work alongside an established estimating team to assess which projects are worth pursuing, challenge scope and methodology, understand delivery risk, identify labour, plant and subcontractor requirements and ensure work is won at sustainable commercial margins.
This is not a greenfield start-up without resources, relationships or capability behind it, and it is not an established civil division where every decision has already been made. It sits in the far more interesting space between the two, giving you the opportunity to help shape what the division becomes.

ABOUT YOU
Your background will most likely have been built within a civil contractor, progressing through project delivery into a Project Manager or Senior Project Manager position where your involvement has started to extend beyond simply delivering the job in front of you.
You enjoy the client side of the industry and have developed relationships with contractors, operators, suppliers and decision-makers who know you, trust your judgement and take your call.
You may already be identifying opportunities for your current employer, contributing to tenders, participating in bid decisions, developing client relationships or bringing work back into the business, but you have reached the point where you want greater ownership over what happens next.
Experience across data centres, renewable energy, transmission, utilities or major infrastructure would be highly regarded, although the priority is finding a strong civil professional with the commercial instinct, relationships and ambition to build something.
