The Role

n

The Kitchen Assistant will assist the Manager Food Services to maintain an agreed
n standard of hygiene, with optimal use of resources.

n

The position will assist the Manager Food Services in maintaining an agreed standard of
n hygiene, with optimal use of resources. The role will also assist with the effective and
n efficient overall operations of the kitchen. The Kitchen Assistant will maintain a high
n standard of hygiene and cleanliness in the kitchen. The position will take part in the
n Accreditation, Work Health & Safety and Infection Control programs within the kitchen with a focus on customer needs

What We're Looking For

n

Qualifications

n

Food Safety Level 1 (or willingness to obtain).

n

Experience working in aged care or healthcare catering environments.

n

Experience

n

Previous experience in a commercial or production kitchen environment is preferred but not essential.

n

Knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices.

n

Ability to follow instructions and work effectively as part of a team.

n

Valuable time management and attention to detail.

n

Physical ability to stand for long periods and lift light to moderate loads.

n





Understanding of the importance of hygiene, particularly when catering to aged care facilities.

n

Essential skills

n

The ability to work in a culturally sensitive manner within an ethno-specific environment.

n

A preparedness to work to the 10 principles of the Eden Alternative philosophy.

n

Self-motivated with a flexible, caring and patient attitude.
