Job Description

This position will suit a technically strong accountant who enjoys working across consolidated reporting, budgeting support, and executive-level financial analysis while contributing to process improvement and operational excellence.

Working closely with a talented senior leadership team at our Rochedale national Store Support Centre, you will play a key role in ensuring solid financial governance, accurate reporting, and ongoing financial stewardship across the organisation.

Key Responsibilities

n

n
- Ownership of month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with Australian Accounting Standards (AASB)
n
- Prepare tier 1 consolidated statutory accounts, including disclosures
n
- Group consolidation across Australian and New Zealand entities, including foreign currency translation and elimination journals
n
- Research, interpretation, and implementation of complex accounting standards including business combinations, leases, hedge accounting, revenue and impairment
n
- Maintain balance sheet integrity through reconciliations and review processes
n
- Monitor accruals, provisions, prepayments, and asset/liability schedules
n
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, financial modelling, and scenario analysis
n
- Provide meaningful financial insights and performance analysis to leadership teams
n
- Coordinate external audit requirements and manage audit deliverables including resolution of technical queries and audit findings
n
- Support ongoing process improvement initiatives across the finance function
n




- Provide technical guidance and mentoring to junior team members and contribute to capability development
n

About you

n

n
- CA or CPA qualified
n
- Proven experience within a medium to large complex organisation
n
- Strong technical financial accounting and statutory reporting capability. Public company experience is highly regarded.
n
- Experience preparing consolidated financial statements
n
- Advanced understanding of compliance, controls, and governance frameworks
n
- Strong communication skills with the ability to partner with non-financial stakeholders
n
- High-level Excel and financial systems capability
n
- Background in retail environments advantageous
n
