About the role

n

Due to the high level of growth and expansion into new markets, XL Precast is expanding and looking for a skilled and fully qualified Formwork Carpenter to join our team. This is a Full-time position with 38-hour basic weeks.

n

Key responsibilities

n

n
- Making formwork from timber, plywood or plastic and steel as per shop drawings
n
- Ability to read and understand drawings
n
- Selecting and ordering materials required and prepare layouts
n
- Measuring and cutting wood or metal
n
- Assembling prepared wood to form structures and fittings ready to install
n
- Safely operating hand and power tools
n
- Prepared to assist other trades
n
- Proven experience (typically 2–5+ years)



in formwork carpentry, including form building and removal, handling architectural finishes, and working on commercial or precast projects
n
- Robust ability to read and interpret technical plans and drawings accurately.
n
- Proficient with hand and power carpentry tools, and committed to workplace health & safety.
n
- Able to carry formwork, work outdoors in varying conditions, climb scaffolding, and work at heights
n
- Leadership and team management skills
n
- Strong knowledge of concrete finishing techniques
n
- Ability to work with precision and attention to detail
n
- Quality focused
n
- Tool and equipment maintenance and housekeeping
n

Trade qualification

n

Certificate III in Carpentry (CPC30220) or equivalent; Certificate III in Formwork (FWP series) is advantageous

n

Construction induction ("White Card")

n

mandatory for site work.
