Due to continued growth, we are seeking an experienced and motivated Civil Construction Estimator to join our team.

About the Role

n

Reporting directly to senior management, you will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive tenders and estimates for civil construction projects. You will play a key role in securing new work by analysing project documentation, assessing costs, and developing comprehensive pricing submissions.

n

This position offers the chance to work across a variety of projects and contribute directly to the company's ongoing success.

Key Responsibilities

n

- Review and interpret tender documentation, plans, specifications, and schedules.
n
- Prepare detailed cost estimates and tender submissions.
n
- Obtain and evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotations.
n
- Assess construction methodologies and project risks.
n
- Develop project budgets and cost plans.
n
- Prepare tender clarifications and respond to client queries.
n
- Assist with contract reviews and handover to project delivery teams.
n
- Maintain estimating databases and pricing schedules.
n
- Participate in post-tender negotiations and value engineering opportunities.
n
- Monitor market rates and industry trends.
n

About You

n

n
- Previous experience as an Estimator within the civil construction industry.
n
- Strong understanding of civil construction methodologies and project delivery.
n
- Experience estimating earthworks,



roads, drainage, utilities, subdivisions, or infrastructure projects.
n
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
n
- Excellent numerical and analytical skills.
n
- Strong communication and negotiation abilities.
n
- High attention to detail and organisational skills.
n
- Ability to work independently and meet tender deadlines.
n
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, MS Project and estimating software.
n

Desired Qualifications & Experience

n

n
- Qualification/experience in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, or related discipline.
n
- Minimum 3 years' estimating experience in civil construction.
n
- Experience with local government, state government, and private sector tenders.
n
- Knowledge of Australian Standards and construction contracts.
n
- Experience with project management or estimating software is highly regarded.
n
