This role requires an experienced tradesperson with a strong background in machining, fitting and sound knowledge of fabrication and CNC machining. You will be responsible for Managing the day-to-day operations of the workshop, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, on time and to the highest quality standards while leading by example and solving problems as they arise.

Key Responsibilities

- Coordinate workshop operations, scheduling and workflow to ensure jobs are delivered on time and to a high standard.
n
- Strong Communication and Management Skills
n
- Apply machining expertise and CNC knowledge to troubleshoot production issues and support effective manufacturing.
n
- Build and maintain strong customer relationships while identifying opportunities to grow the business.
n
- Provide practical solutions to workshop challenges and maintain efficient job flow.
n
- Work closely with supervisors, estimators and management to achieve operational objectives.
n
- Ensure compliance with workplace health and safety requirements and promote a strong safety culture.
n
- Monitor stock levels, equipment maintenance and purchasing requirements to support production.
n
- Report directly to the Director and drive continuous improvement across workshop operations, quality and productivity.
n
- Manage the growth and advancement of the company and its operations

Key Requirements

n

n
- Trade qualification as a Machinist, Fitter & Turner or similar engineering trade.
n
- Proven machining experience with strong CNC knowledge.
n
- Sound understanding of fabrication and general engineering processes.
n
- Demonstrated leadership experience in a workshop or manufacturing environment.
n
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
n
- Strong organisational and time management abilities.
n
- High attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
n
- Excellent communication and customer relationship skills.
n
- Thorough understanding of workplace health and safety requirements.
n
- A proactive attitude with the ability to motivate others and continuously improve workshop performance.
