We are currently seeking experienced and resilient Youth Workers to join our growing team. This is a rewarding opportunity for professionals who are passionate about supporting young people with complex support needs while working within a Positive Behaviour Support framework.
n
About the Role
n
As a Youth Worker, you will provide one‐on‐one, person‐centred support to young people with complex needs while promoting independence, emotional wellbeing, and community participation.
n
You will work within a Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) framework, implementing individual support plans while maintaining a safe, therapeutic, and supportive workplace for both participants and staff.
n
Key Responsibilities
n
n
- Provide high-quality, person-centred support.
n
- Implement Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) strategies and individual support plans.
n
- Support daily living activities, community participation, and skill development.
n
- Build positive, professional relationships with participants.
n
- Maintain accurate case notes, incident reports, and daily documentation.
n
- Work collaboratively with families, allied health professionals, and internal support teams.
n
- Promote participant choice, dignity, and independence.
n
- Maintain safe work practices and follow organisational policies and procedures.
n
n
This Role Requires Someone Who
n
n
- Has demonstrated experience supporting young people with complex behavioural support needs.
n
- Is confident responding to behaviours of concern using proactive strategies, de‐escalation techniques, and a calm, professional approach.
n
- Can remain calm, professional, and solution‐focused under pressure.
n
- Has strong communication, conflict resolution, and de‐escalation skills.
n
- Understands trauma‐informed and person‐centred practice.
n
- Can work independently while contributing positively to a team environment.
n
- Is reliable, resilient, and committed to delivering high‐quality support.
n
n
Shifts Available
n
7 days a week
n 6am–2pm | 2pm–10pm | Sleepover shifts
n
Essential Requirements
n
n
- Certificate IV in Youth Work, Community Services, Disability, Mental Health, or a related qualification (or currently studying).
n
- Current Driver Licence.
n
- Reliable vehicle with comprehensive insurance.
n
- Current First Aid and CPR Certificate.
n
- Working with Children Check (Blue Card).
n
- NDIS Worker Screening Clearance (Yellow Card).
n
- NDIS Worker Orientation Module.
n
- Smartphone with internet access.
n
- Ability to complete sleepover shifts.
n
n
Highly Desirable
n
n
- Experience supporting participants with high‐intensity behavioural support needs.
n
- Youth Mental Health First Aid.
n
- Hope & Healing Foundational Training.
n
- CPI, PART, MAPA or other recognised behaviour management/de‐escalation training.
n
- Experience working within Positive Behaviour Support frameworks.
n
