Position
n
We are seeking a motivated and experienced Project Engineer (SMP – Structural, Mechanical & Piping) to join our team.
n
The successful candidate will have a minimum of 3+ years' experience in plant construction and project engineering, with demonstrated experience managing Structural Steel, Mechanical and Piping projects from the tender phase through to successful completion.
n
In addition to project delivery, this role will support business development and marketing activities by building strong client relationships, identifying new project opportunities and assisting with tender submissions and company promotion.
n
Key Responsibilities
n
Manage Structural Steel, Mechanical and Piping (SMP) projects from tender through to completion.
n
Coordinate project planning, procurement, scheduling, fabrication, installation and commissioning activities.
n
Understand and deliver client and NWEC project objectives regarding safety, budget, quality and programme.
n
Prepare and manage project documentation, including progress reports, progress claims, variations and Extension of Time (EOT) claims.
n
Liaise with clients, consultants,
subcontractors and suppliers to ensure successful project delivery.
n
Monitor project costs, risks and resources to maximise project performance.
n
Develop and maintain robust relationships with existing and prospective clients.
n
Identify recent business opportunities and support the preparation of tenders, quotations and technical proposals.
n
Promote NWEC's engineering, fabrication and construction capabilities to clients and industry stakeholders.
n
Support contract negotiations and contribute to securing new projects
n
Skills & Experience
n
Tertiary qualification in Engineering (Mechanical, Structural, Civil or related discipline).
n
Experience in engineering project management together with business development or technical marketing is desirable
n
Minimum 3+ years' experience in Project Engineering and Project Management within Structural Steel, Mechanical and Piping (SMP) projects.
n
Demonstrated experience delivering multiple projects safely, on time and within budget.
n
Strong knowledge of structural steel fabrication, plant construction and piping systems.
n
Experience preparing progress claims, variations and Extension of Time (EOT) claims.
n
Proven ability to identify and pursue new business opportunities.
n
Experience in client relationship management, business development or technical marketing will be highly regarded.
n
Knowledge of the Australian construction, infrastructure or heavy industrial sectors is desirable.
n
