Job Description

- Selecting and inspecting carcasses, sides and quarters for boning and processing, checking quality and freshness
n
- Cutting, sawing, boning meat using knives, cleavers, bandsaws and other butchery equipment
n
- Preparing standard cuts and retail portions, including mincing, dicing, rolling, tying and crumbing
n
- Producing smallgoods such as sausages, marinated and value added lines by mincing, seasoning, curing and processing meat
n
- Operating mincing, mixing and tenderising machinery
n
- Displaying and pricing meat and smallgoods for sale, and serving customers with advice on selection, cooking and storage
n
- Ensuring all handling, preparation and storage meets food safety, hygiene, HACCP and halal certification requirements
n
- Cleaning and sanitising benches, cool rooms, plant and machinery, and sharpening and maintaining knives, saws and equipment
n
- Monitoring and rotating stock, recording wastage and assisting with ordering supplies
n

Requirements

n

n
- Minimum 1 years of butchery experience in a retail or commercial workplace
n
- Strong knowledge of halal meat preparation methods and Islamic slaughter requirements
n
- Proficiency in butchery techniques and product knowledge across multiple meat types
n




- Valid food handling certification or willingness to obtain
n
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to food safety standards
n
- Reliable, punctual, and customer focused
n
- Ability to work as part of a team
n
- Desirable Experience in a halal butchery environment
n
- Knowledge of diverse meat cuts and specialty products
n
