We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager - Civil for utility-scale renewable energy systems—including solar PV, battery storage (BESS), hybrid AC/DC-coupled projects.
n
ABOUT THE ROLE
n
The Professional will lead:
n
n
- Technology selection across PV, BESS, and H2 technologies during early and mid-stage development, jointly with EPC/Engineering, overseeing early-stage design optimization efforts, ensuring the seamless integration of complex hybrid technologies (Solar PV + BESS) to maximize energy yield and project returns.
n
- Serving as the development group's key technical representative in all external and internal technical discussions, being the cross-functional interface between the Australian Development and EPC/Engineering teams, and HQ engineers in Korea.
n
n
This includes leading negotiations and liaising with the internal Engineering & Construction (E&C;)
department, Independent Technical Experts (ITEs), network service providers (NSPs), and the Australian Energy Market Operator (AEMO).
n
n
- Technical due diligence for renewable energy and hydrogen M&A;, leading and coordinating all technical due diligence processes during project acquisitions, evaluating existing designs, technology choices, contracts, and compliance documentation.
n
- Manage Engineering and Technical consultants working on Samsung's behalf.
n
n
Identification, analysis, and mitigation of technical risks inherent in early-stage development and acquisition, ensuring all projects have a clear path to being "shovel-ready" and financeable.
n
Ensure robust governance around technical documentation, specifications, and data rooms during project handover to the E&C; team or during M&A; transactions.
n
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
n
n
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Electrical, Renewable Energy, Power Systems, Mechanical, Aeronautical, or related).
n
- 7–12+ years' experience in renewable energy projects (utility-scale PV, BESS or hybrid systems).
n
n
Hands-on experience with:
n
n
- AC and DC-coupled BESS
n
- PV design and performance modelling
n
- Green Hydrogen/Ammonia projects
n
- Experience leading technical due diligence for M&A; or financing.
n
- Solid understanding of Australian energy market regulations, grid codes, and standards.
n
- Ability to interpret technical drawings, SLDs, data sheets, and engineering documents.
n
- Excellent communication skills, capable of interfacing with HQ engineering teams overseas.
n
n
Preferred
n
n
- Master's degree in Engineering or Renewable Energy.
n
- Experience working with engineering teams.
n
- Exposure to NEM grid compliance (AEMO, NSP frameworks).
n
n
