Operations & Maintenance Engineer – Solar / BESS

12 Month Contract role | $500–$650/day inclusive per day| Renewable Energy

Talesca is partnering with a global renewable energy developer, owner and operator, to appoint an Operations & Maintenance Engineer to support its Australian renewable energy portfolio.

n

This contract role will focus on a Solar Farm and broader O&M; support across operating and future renewable energy assets.

n

This is a practical, hands‐on role suited to an Electrical Engineer who wants to build their career in renewable energy operations, asset performance and contractor management.

n

The Role

n

Working closely with the O&M; Manager, you will support the operation, performance and maintenance oversight of utility‐scale renewable energy assets.

n

You will be involved in plant performance monitoring, contractor inspections, operational reporting, fault investigation support, compliance tracking and site‐based observations.

n

This is not a pure construction role. It is ideal for someone who wants to move closer to asset management, operations and long‐term renewable energy performance.

Key Responsibilities

n

n
- Support day‐to‐day operation of a Queensland Solar Farm.
n
- Monitor plant performance, availability and operational KPIs.
n
- Review maintenance outcomes, operational data and performance trends.
n
- Support fault investigation and corrective action activities of the O&M; Contractor.
n
- Conduct site inspections and condition assessments.
n
- Review O&M; contractor and service provider works.
n




- Verify maintenance activities are completed safely and to specification.
n
- Identify defects, quality issues, non‐conformances and operational risks.
n
- Prepare concise site visit reports and elevate technical issues.
n
- Support operational readiness for future renewable energy projects.
n

About You

n

You will ideally have:

n

n
- Electrical Engineering qualification.
n
- 5 years' engineering experience.
n
- Exposure to solar, BESS, renewables, utilities, orpower systems
n
- Interest in O&M;, asset performance and contractor management.
n
- Robust reporting, communication, and organisational skills.
n
- Confidence in engaging with contractors and site teams.
n
- Australian working rights and current Driver's Licence.
n

Desirable Experience

n

n
- Utility‐scale solar, wind or BESS experience.
n
- SCADA or performance monitoring exposure.
n
- Electrical maintenance, commissioning, or field engineering experience.
n
- Contractor supervision or site inspection experience.
n
- Understanding of HV systems or balance of plant equipment.
n
- Exposure to operational compliance, O&M; KPIs, or asset management principles.
n
