Working closely with Sophie and the broader team, you will play a key role in shaping and executing digital media strategies, creating compelling content, and strengthening community engagement across a range of platforms.

About the Digital Media Officer role and its key responsibilities
n
This role works closely with the Media and Communications Adviser, Chief of Staff and the Member. The key responsibilities of the role are, but not limited to:
n
Social media
n
n
- Develop and implement a multi-platform social media strategy to increase the Member's profile, community awareness, engagement, and reach
n
- Create and publish engaging content across all the Member's social media platforms
n
- Develop and edit short-form video content and write punchy social media video scripts
n
- Grow the Member's online presence through innovative content, collaborations, emerging technologies and digital engagement opportunities
n
- Monitor and manage social media channels, comments, direct messages and community pages, responding appropriately and escalating issues when required
n
- Build and maintain strong digital relationships and collaborate with community stakeholders
n
n
Online Communications
n
n
- Manage and maintain the Member's website, ensuring content is current, accurate, compliant and aligned with communications objectives
n
- Coordinate the timely publication of speeches, media releases, newsletters and other communications materials on digital platforms and update the team
n
- Draft, produce and distribute e-newsletters and EDMs
n
- Develop and maintain a library of digital assets, including photographs, videos, templates and communications materials
n
- Identify and implement new digital tools, technologies and processes to improve online visibility, efficiency and community engagement
n
n
Events Support
n
n
- Attend electorate, parliamentary and community events to support the Member and capture content for digital communications
n
- Photograph, film and record events, activities and constituent engagements for use across digital and social media platforms
n
- Assist with the promotion,
marketing and communications activities associated with community and electorate events
n
n
Skills and Experience
n
n
- Qualifications in design, communications, marketing, content creation or similar role, or equivalent professional experience with a strong portfolio
n
- Demonstrated content creation and social media administration skills
n
- Experienced and skilled in using relevant applications to create high-quality, engaging multimedia assets (see platforms and tools)
n
- Experience in video editing and photography
n
- Solid writing skills and experience across social media, EDM, website and campaign content with excellent attention to detail
n
- Strong coordination, planning, and time-management skills; ability to manage multiple priorities, projects and contractors to produce high quality outputs
n
n

The successful candidate will work across platforms including:

- Meta Business Suite
n
- Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, TikTok, Bluesky, X and YouTube
n
- NationBuilder
n
- Canva and Adobe Creative Cloud Suite
n
- Google Analytics
n
- Survey Monkey
n
- Google Forms
n
- Microsoft Office, SharePoint and Teams
n
n
Experience across every platform is not required. The successful candidate should be confident learning new systems quickly.

Salary $79,525 to $91,199 per annum, depending on experience, plus super
