Christian College Geelong seeks to appoint a agile, experienced and enthusiastic educator to the position of Instrumental Music Tutor - Cello. The role will involve tutoring students during term weeks ranging from Years Prep -12. This casual position is available now to commence during Term 3, 2026, with an expected load of 1 to 2 days weekly. This casual role is open to growth, dependant on the successful applicant's skills and availability.

Experience in any of the following areas would also be an advantage in being successfully appointed in this role:

- Performance experience in String Orchestras, Symphony orchestras, chamber ensembles or as a soloist.
n
- Experience leading/conducting ensembles.
n
- Experience in teaching and performance on another instrument.

ABOUT THE CHRISTIAN COLLEGE GEELONG MUSIC PROGRAM

Music is a significant part of life at Christian College Geelong, students are offered a wide range of performing experiences as soloists and in ensembles.

The music staff collaboratively ensure the development, implementation, and coordination of the music program in the Junior, Middle and Senior Schools.
n
Over 800 students undertake weekly instrumental tuition.
The ensemble program is extensive and caters for students of all levels of proficiency. There are currently 28 co-curricular groups providing ensemble experience for students across the College. and ensembles include concert bands, string orchestras, stage bands, chamber ensembles and contemporary bands. The College has a rich tradition of singing with many students belonging to one or more of the seven choirs.

WHAT YOU BRING
n
You bring experience in teaching instrumental music to junior school students through to secondary school aged children. You have knowledge of your instrumental areas from elementary fingering/techniques to advanced performance skills. You have completed a degree in music/instrumental education, are currently undertaking study or have commensurate performance/music industry/instrumental tutor experience to undertake this role.
