Maintenance Fitter / Fitter & Turner | From $49.91/hr | Laverton

We are currently seeking a qualified and experienced Maintenance Fitter / Fitter & Turner to join a well-established food manufacturing facility based in Laverton.

With day, afternoon and night shifts available, this is an excellent opportunity to secure a permanent full-time position within a busy manufacturing environment. Working alongside an experienced maintenance team, you'll play a key role in ensuring production equipment operates safely and efficiently while contributing to continuous improvement initiatives across the site.

About the Role

n

Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, you will be responsible for carrying out preventative and breakdown maintenance on a variety of production equipment to minimise downtime and maximise plant performance. This is a hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys fault finding, problem solving and working with automated manufacturing equipment in a fast-paced production environment.

Key Responsibilities

- Perform preventative and reactive maintenance on production equipment
n
- Diagnose and repair mechanical faults to minimise production downtime
n
- Carry out routine inspections and equipment servicing
n
- Maintain and repair hydraulic and pneumatic systems
n
- Read and interpret technical drawings and maintenance manuals
n
- Complete maintenance records and preventative maintenance schedules
n
- Support continuous improvement projects and equipment upgrades
n
- Work closely with production teams, electricians, contractors and site leadership
n
- Participate in the on-call breakdown roster as required
n
- Maintain compliance with WHS, food safety,



quality and environmental standards
n

About You

n

n
- Trade qualification as a Mechanical Fitter, Fitter & Turner or equivalent
n
- Previous maintenance experience within a manufacturing, food processing or production environment
n
- Strong mechanical fault‐finding and troubleshooting skills
n
- Experience working with hydraulic and pneumatic systems
n
- Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities
n
- Strong communication skills and a team‐focused approach
n
- Commitment to workplace safety and continuous improvement
n

Highly Regarded

n

n
- Forklift Licence
n
- Welding experience (MMAW/GTAW)
n
- Experience working with automated production equipment
n
