The Opportunity

n

Due to continued growth, we are seeking an experienced and motivated Civil Estimator to join our expanding team.

n

This role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional with solid analytical skills and a passion for civil construction.



You will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive estimates across a diverse portfolio of civil infrastructure projects, playing a vital role in securing new work and supporting the company's ongoing success.

Working closely with project managers, engineers, subcontractors, and suppliers, you will help develop winning tender submissions while ensuring estimates align with project requirements, company objectives, and market conditions.

Key Responsibilities

- Review and interpret project drawings, specifications, and contract documentation.
n
- Prepare detailed cost estimates covering labour, materials, plant, equipment, and subcontractor requirements.
n
- Complete quantity take-offs and analyse project costs.
n
- Conduct site inspections to assess project conditions, constraints, and associated cost impacts.
n
- Obtain and evaluate quotations from suppliers and subcontractors.
n
- Collaborate with engineers, project managers, clients, and stakeholders to clarify scope and pricing assumptions.
n
- Assess labour productivity rates, crew structures, and project resource requirements.
n
- Identify project risks, value engineering opportunities, and alternative construction methodologies.
n
- Prepare tender submissions and supporting documentation for management review.
n




- Maintain and update estimating databases, supplier pricing, and historical cost records.
n
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the estimating process.
n

About You

n

To be successful in this role, you will possess:

n

n
- A tertiary qualification in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
n
- A minimum of 5 years' experience in a Civil Estimating role.
n
- Strong knowledge of civil construction methods, engineering practices, and project delivery processes.
n
- Proven experience across subdivisions, bulk earthworks, roadworks, pipe works, water and wastewater infrastructure, and related civil projects.
n
- Proficiency with estimating software Expert Estimator and MS Products
n
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail.
n
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement abilities.
n
- The ability to work effectively under pressure and manage competing deadlines.
n
- A proactive attitude, strong work ethic, and genuine desire to build a long-term career within the civil construction industry.
