Senior Category Specialist - Construction

We are seeking an experienced Senior Category Specialist to manage strategic procurement across construction and capital works. This is a key role partnering with senior stakeholders to deliver commercial outcomes across major projects, panels and long-term service arrangements.

Key Responsibilities

n

- Manage risk, variations and disputes with explicit communication
n
- Lead tenders and negotiations with calm, commercial judgement
n
- Experienced in construction contract tendering, evaluation and award
n

- Develop and deliver category strategies for construction/capital works spend
n
- Lead end-to-end sourcing: market engagement, tendering, evaluation, negotiation and award
n
- Draft/review commercial terms and manage contract risk, variations, claims and performance
n
- Partner with project and operational stakeholders to support project delivery timeframes and budgets
n
- Drive supplier performance and continuous improvement across procurement governance
n
- Provide coaching/mentoring to team members as required
n

Skills, Experience and Qualifications

n

n




- Degree qualified (commerce, business, law, engineering, procurement or similar)
n
- Demonstrated experience managing construction contracts
n
- Strong capability across tendering, negotiation, contract formation and contract management
n
- Working knowledge of construction contracting models (e.g., AS forms, D&C;, lump sum, schedule of rates)
n
- Confident stakeholder engagement style with the ability to influence at senior levels
n

Casual Loading

Please note for all Australian based contract and temporary roles only, the pay rate is inclusive of mandatory 25% casual loading. This excludes permanent and fixed term roles.
