The opportunity

I'm partnering with a large Australian digital and ecommerce business on a significant transformation program. They're bringing in a Senior Project Manager to own delivery across a defined slice of that work.

n

This is a genuinely cross-functional role. You'll be working across product management, engineering, marketing, fulfilment, loyalty and a range of broader group functions.

n

The environment is rapid, matrixed and not always tidy, so the ability to create structure where none currently exists is the thing that will make or break you here.

What you'll be doing

n

- Building and managing project plans and backlogs, driving iterative planning and release management against clear business objectives
n
- Leading and motivating medium scale multi-disciplinary delivery teams across the organisation
n
- Acting as the primary point of contact for stakeholders on status, progress, risk and change
n
- Proactively surfacing and clearing impediments for your teams, and mitigating project level risk before it bites
n
- Owning project budget and resource allocation with real financial accountability
n
- Reporting on Agile metrics (velocity, burn-down, burn-up) and delivery performance to executive leadership
n
- Championing Agile practice and coaching teams through sprint planning,



stand-ups, reviews and retrospectives

- Driving continuous improvement of delivery process and Agile maturity
n

What you'll need

n

n
- 7 or more years in project management, leading complex delivery inside digital technology, digital or ecommerce environments mandatory.
n
- Demonstrated Agile expertise across Scrum and Kanban. Experience maturing Agile practice within a team is a strong plus
n
- Solid grasp of the SDLC, web and mobile technologies, and cloud based solutions
n
- Proven ability to operate independently and drive deliverables at scale. This is a self-starter role
n
- Comfort with ambiguity, competing priorities and a fast moving environment
n
- Exceptional communication, with the ability to translate complex concepts for technical and non-technical audiences
n
- Tertiary qualification in a relevant field. Agile (CSM, PMI-ACP) or traditional (PMP, PRINCE2) certification is well regarded
n

A 6 month initial contract at $1000 per day on a program with multi-year funding, high visibility across the group, and the kind of digital estate that gives a PM plenty to get their teeth into. Extensions on this account are common.
