Industrial Sewing Machinist – Mattress Manufacturing

We are a well-established mattress manufacturer based in the northern suburbs of Melbourne, currently seeking an experienced Industrial Sewing Machinist to join our team.

n

This is a hands-on role, primarily responsible for the sewing and overlocking of mattress panels and other bedding components. Working independently, you will also collaborate closely with the production team to ensure high-quality workmanship and meet production deadlines.

Key Responsibilities:

- Sewing, overlocking, and assembling mattress panels and covers using industrial sewing machines.
n
- Cutting fabric to size and shape using simple patterns and templates.
n
- Inspecting finished products to ensure they meet quality standards.
n
- Assisting the production team with related tasks as required.
n




- Maintaining cleanliness and safety in the sewing area.
n
- Reporting any machine faults or material issues promptly.
n

- Proven experience operating industrial sewing machines and overlockers.
n
- Ability to read and interpret basic patterns and specifications.
n
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.

- Positive communication skills and a positive attitude.

- Ability to work independently as well as contribute effectively within a team.

- Good time management skills and the ability to prioritize tasks.
n
- Physically able, with the ability to perform repetitive manual work for extended periods.
