Principal Engineer- Systems Engineering and Safety Assurance

Randstad has been retained by a leading global client-side advisory and delivery consultancy to source a Principal Engineer- Systems Engineering and Safety Assurance. This role will lead the SESA function for the NSW business and is a permanent, hybrid position offering flexible work arrangements. The office is located in Sydney CBD.

This organization has established significant SESA teams across Australia, particularly in Queensland, and aims to replicate that success in the NSW market.

The Role:

n

- Establish, grow, and lead the NSW SESA capability, including people, systems, and delivery frameworks.
n
- Build and maintain a strong pipeline of opportunities, through effective client engagement, bid leadership and exceptional delivery.
n
- Strategically grow the business across multiple market sectors, with an emphasis on rail.
n
- Collaborate with other NSW and inter-state business units to expand the wider business.
n
- Manage and capitalize on existing relationships while identifying new opportunities to grow market share.
n

The Role:

The Person:

n

n
- Enterprise-level experience in developing and converting a pipeline of work.
n
- Strong client and professional relationships to leverage.
n
- A strategic thinker who can identify opportunities and align capability with market demand.
n
- Experience across multiple sectors, including rail, defense, road, and transport.
n
- Deep knowledge of systems and safety engineering, with an understanding of relevant standards such as IEC 61508, IEC 61511, EN 5012X, MIL-STD-882X, or equivalent.
n
- A collaborative leader who can work autonomously, is target-driven, and outcome-focused.
n
- Chartered Engineer status is desirable.
n
