Job Description

Salary range: $75,000 - $85,000 plus superannuation

To coordinate the company's quality systems, inspect products, investigate quality issues and drive continuous improvement across the business. Working in our operating entity City Timber.

n

Key Responsibilities

n

Product Quality

n

n
- Conduct routine inspections of incoming finished timber products.
n
- Ensure products meet customer specifications, grading rules and company quality standards.
n
- Verify dimensions, moisture content, appearance, machining quality and packaging.
n
- Identify and quarantine non-conforming products.
n
- Record inspection results and maintain quality records.
n

Customer Quality

n

n
- Review of job lots prior to being packaged up for customer.
n
- Coordinate corrective actions with warehouse, supplier and management.
n
- Track trends in customer complaints.
n
- Recommend improvements to reduce repeat issues.
n
- Monitor quality of incoming timber from suppliers.
n
- Record supplier quality performance.
n




- Report recurring supplier issues to management.
n
- Assist with supplier corrective action requests where required.
n

Quality Systems

n

n
- Ensure quality procedures and work instructions remain current.
n
- Assist with document control.
n
- Maintain inspection forms and product quality registers.
n

n

Training

n

n
- Train staff in quality procedures and inspection methods.
n
- Promote quality awareness throughout the business.
n

n

Health, Safety & Environmental

n

n
- Follow company WHS policies.
n
- Ensure protected inspection practices.
n
- Report hazards and incidents.
n
- Support environmental and sustainability initiatives where applicable.
n

Skills & Experience

n

n
- A relevant bachelor's degree or higher qualification plus 1 year of experience; or at least six years of relevant experience may substitute for the formal qualification.
