Job Description
Mission:
n
Reporting to the Operations Director, the Demand & Supply Planning Manager leads the end-to-end planning agenda for Oceania, translating demand signals, retailer commitments, launch plans and supply constraints into an integrated operational plan that supports service, revenue and working capital objectives across a multi-brand fragrance and beauty portfolio.
n
The role owns the local S&OP; process, demand consensus, supply risk management, inventory governance and planning team capability, partnering closely with Commercial, Marketing, Finance, Logistics, Customer Service and Global Planning.
n
Functions and Responsibilities:
n
Lead Sales and Operational Planning (S&OP;) process
n
Own the annual S&OP; calendar and monthly planning cycle, setting clear timelines, accountabilities and decision points.
n
Lead Demand Consensus with Commercial and Marketing, translating promotional plans, market intelligence and retailer activity into SKU-level forecast assumptions.
n
Oversee forecast quality, data integrity and forecast valuation against budget, ensuring key variances are explained, challenged and aligned with Finance.
n
Secure timely IBP forecast submission aligned with global deadlines and local priorities.
n
Lead Local S&OP; meetings, ensuring risks, decisions and actions are clearly surfaced and followed through.
n
Drive continuous improvement in forecast accuracy, bias reduction, planning discipline and KPI management.
n
Lead launch and promotional planning governance
n
Oversee launch and promotional volume planning, ensuring assumptions are based on historical performance, market context, retailer commitments, brand priorities and comparable launch patterns.
n
Lead forecast reviews during launch and promotional periods, ensuring sell-in, sell-out and retailer feedback are translated into timely forecast adjustments and supply actions.
n
Guide cannibalisation analysis across product lines and ensure related forecast adjustments are aligned with Commercial, Marketing and Finance stakeholders.
n
Drive post-launch and promotional performance reviews with Commercial and Marketing teams, identifying learnings, risks and corrective actions for future planning cycles.
n
Govern promotional stock exit plans by ensuring leftover stock risks are visible, owned and actioned with Sales, Marketing, Supply Planning and Finance.
n
Supply Planning & Inventory Management
n
Lead the local supply planning agenda from HQ availability through to warehouse receipt, customer availability and shelf readiness.
n
Provide clear visibility of inbound supply, in-transit stock, DRP cycles, purchase orders, inventory projections, DIO/DIO TAM, and availability risks.
n
Prioritise supply constraints, define mitigation plans and communicate out-of-stock risk, recovery timing and business impact.
n
Partner with Global Supply Planning to secure replenishment priorities, manage production delays, allocation constraints,
supply shortages and recovery plans.
n
Own inventory health governance, including overstock, slow-moving, obsolete and ageing stock, and drive cross-functional actions to reduce write-offs and working capital exposure.
n
Govern air freight decisions through clear business case assessment, balancing service risk, cost impact, SKU priority and sustainability considerations.
n
Secure launch and promotional supply readiness, including stock, testers, samples, GWP, POSM, inbound priorities, warehouse capacity and customer delivery readiness.
n
Drive continuous improvement in supply planning processes, tools, reporting, planning discipline and team capability.
n
Cross-functional and global stakeholder management
n
Lead cross-functional alignment between Commercial, Marketing, Finance, Logistics, Customer Service and Global Planning to ensure one integrated demand and supply plan.
n
Translate local market intelligence, retailer strategy, promotional activity and financial priorities into planning assumptions and decisions.
n
Represent Oceania planning priorities with Global Demand Planning and Global Supply Planning teams, ensuring local risks, opportunities and requirements are visible and actioned.
n
Establish clear communication routines for forecast changes, supply risks, launch priorities and business impacts.
n
Share best practices with other markets and contribute to continuous improvement of planning processes, tools and governance.
n
Retailer supply chain collaboration
n
Build senior working relationships with key retailer supply chain and buying teams to improve joint planning, service levels and supply chain efficiency.
n
Lead sell-out–driven joint forecasting with key retailers ahead of peak trading periods, launches and major promotions, converting point-of-sale demand into aligned sell-in, replenishment and on-shelf availability.
n
Understand retailer inventory strategies, service expectations and operational constraints to improve forecast quality, product availability and customer service outcomes.
n
Review joint performance against service level, forecast accuracy, supply execution and agreed improvement actions.
n
Planning analytics, reporting & digital enablement
n
Leverage data analytics, automation and visualisation tools such as Power BI to turn planning data into actionable insight and end-to-end visibility across demand and supply planning.
n
Leverage AI-enabled tools such as Microsoft Copilot to improve planning productivity, scenario analysis, automation and decision support.
n
Safeguard and monitor master-data integrity across ERP and planning systems (e.g. SAP and SAP IBP), ensuring accuracy and consistency to support key planning processes such as DRP, forecast submissions, and inventory projections.
n
Team Leadership & Planning Capability Development
n
Manage, coach and develop the local Demand and Supply Planning team, ensuring role clarity, priorities and effective workload allocation.
n
Set the team operating rhythm across demand planning, supply planning, S&OP;, launch planning, inventory governance and reporting.
n
Build capability through coaching, process discipline, knowledge sharing and adoption of best practices.
n
Monitor team performance against forecast accuracy, bias, service level, inventory health and planning cycle adherence.
n
Foster a proactive, analytical and solution-oriented team culture focused on service, inventory and continuous improvement.
n
Support succession planning, onboarding and training for planning roles within the Oceania Operations team.
n
Experience
n
Minimum 5 years' experience across demand planning, supply planning, inventory management or S&OP; within FMCG, beauty, retail or consumer goods environments.
n
Previous people management experience or demonstrated ability to lead, coach and coordinate planning teams is preferred.
n
Education:
n
Degree holder in supply chain, engineering, business or other relevant discipline. Professional certification such as APICS/ASCM (CPIM, CSCP) is desirable.
n
Specific Knowledge required/preferred:
n
Exceptional leadership, coaching, stakeholder management and communication capability.
n
Sound analytical judgement with the ability to translate data, risks and operational constraints into clear business recommendations.
n
Solid end-to-end supply chain understanding across demand, supply, inventory, logistics and customer availability.
n
Comprehensive inventory management capability covering stock coverage, allocation, ageing, obsolescence and working capital impact.
n
Advanced planning system capability, including SAP, IBP, JDA/APO or equivalent forecasting tools.
n
Experience with Power BI, SAC or similar reporting tools preferred.
n
Commercial and financial acumen across net revenue and budget/commitment planning.
n
Digital and innovation-oriented mindset, with ability to leverage AI-enabled tools such as Microsoft Copilot to improve planning productivity, scenario analysis, automation and decision support.
