Biala Support Services is a respected registered NDIS provider delivering high-quality Supported Independent Living, Home & Living and community-based supports across the Northern Rivers.
n
We are seeking experienced Disability Support Workers to join our team on a permanent part-time basis. The position offers a minimum of 15 hours per week, with the potential to increase to approximately 30 hours per week, depending on participant needs, availability and service requirements.

About the role
n
You will provide safe, respectful and person-centred support that promotes each participant's independence, choice, dignity and wellbeing.
n
Your responsibilities may include:
n
n
- Supporting participants with daily routines, personal care and household activities.
n
- Assisting with community access, appointments and social participation.
n
- Following support plans, health plans, behaviour support strategies and risk controls.
n
- Providing medication support in accordance with training and procedures.
n
- Completing accurate progress notes and incident documentation.
n
- Communicating professionally with participants, families and the broader support team.
n
- Supporting participants with complex needs while maintaining professional boundaries.
n
n
The role may include weekday, weekend, evening, overnight and public holiday shifts.
n
About you
n
We are looking for experienced, reliable and values-driven people who are passionate about delivering high-quality disability support.
n
You will have:
n
n
- Previous experience working in disability support, SIL,
Home & Living or complex care.
n
- A robust understanding of person-centred and rights-based practice.
n
- Experience providing personal care and supporting daily living activities.
n
- Strong communication, documentation and relationship-building skills.
n
- The ability to follow individual support plans and workplace procedures.
n
- Sound judgement and the ability to remain calm in challenging situations.
n
- Reliability and flexibility to work across a range of shifts.
n
n
Experience in positive behaviour support, active support, medication assistance or complex support environments will be highly regarded.

Essential requirements
n
Applicants must hold, or be willing to obtain:
n
n
- NDIS Worker Screening Check.
n
- Working With Children Check.
n
- Current First Aid and CPR.
n
- Current unrestricted driver licence.
n
- Access to a reliable and comprehensively insured vehicle.
n
- The right to work in Australia.
n
- Required NDIS Commission modules.
n
- Two professional referees, including a current or previous supervisor.
n
n
Relevant qualifications in Disability, Individual Support, Community Services or a related field will be highly regarded.
