About the Role

Are you an experienced Physiotherapist looking to make a meaningful impact while enjoying a genuine work-life balance? We are seeking a passionate Grade 2 Physiotherapist to join the St Vincent's Hospital Melbourne Physiotherapy Department on a part-time, fixed-term basis.
n
Working across the Adult Mental Health Inpatient Unit at our Fitzroy campus and the Older Adult Mental Health Unit at our Kew campus, you will provide high-quality physiotherapy care to people experiencing mental illness while supporting their physical health and wellbeing. This is a unique opportunity to join a cohesive and progressive multidisciplinary team committed to excellence in clinical practice, research and professional development.

You will play an important role in delivering evidence-based physiotherapy services while contributing to the ongoing development of physiotherapy within Mental Health. Applicants must hold, or be eligible for, current registration as a Physiotherapist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA). Classification: Physiotherapist Grade 2 VB1 - VB4 ($90,235 to $103,724 per annum, pro rata for part time).

Duties
n
Deliver evidence-based physiotherapy assessment and management for adults with mental illness, including management of common physical health comorbidities such as musculoskeletal, cardiovascular and respiratory conditions.
n
Provide high-quality physiotherapy services to the Adult Mental Health Inpatient Unit at Fitzroy and the Older Adult Mental Health Unit at Kew.
n
Provide clinical supervision, mentoring and support to Physiotherapy staff working within Mental Health services.
n
Promote integrated physical and mental healthcare in line with the Equally Well consensus statement and Equally Well in Victoria.
n
Embed trauma-informed principles into physiotherapy practice within Mental Health settings.
n
Contribute to the development and growth of Physiotherapy services within Mental Health.
n
Communicate assessment findings, treatment plans and outcomes effectively through clinical documentation and multidisciplinary handovers.
n
Work collaboratively with medical, nursing and Allied Health staff to deliver person-centred care.

Your Contribution
n
Current registration (or eligibility for registration) as a Physiotherapist with AHPRA.
n
Recent clinical experience
n
Recent clinical experience and demonstrated knowledge of physiotherapy practice within an acute healthcare setting.
n
Relevant postgraduate qualifications are highly desirable.
n
Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
n
