Position Purpose
n
The Area Manager is responsible for leading support services and operational performance across the region. This includes managing direct and adaptable supports aligned with:
n
n
- Participant goals and NDIS plans
n
- NDIS Practice Standards and Code of Conduct
n
- The vision, mission, and values of Tender Loving Care Disability
n
n
This role ensures the delivery of high-quality, person-centred, safe, and responsive services for people with disability.
n
Key Responsibilities
n
1. NDIS Compliance and Quality
n
n
- Ensure service delivery is compliant with the NDIS Quality and Safeguards
n
n
Commission requirements.
n
n
- Oversee internal audits, practice reviews, and continuous improvement initiatives.
n
nn
- Report incidents, manage risk, and ensure participant rights and choice are respected.
n
nn
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date participant records and documentation.
n
n
2. Leadership and Workforce Development
n
n
- Supervise, support, and develop Community Support Workers and Direct Supports
n
nn
- Conduct regular supervision, performance reviews, and training.
n
nn
- Ensure onboarding, induction, and ongoing development meets NDIS expectations.
n
nn
- Promote a workplace culture that aligns with Tender Loving Care Disability's values.
n
n
3. Participant-Centred Service Delivery
n
n
- Oversee development and review of individualised support plans.
n
nn
- Promote participant choice, dignity of risk, and supported decision-making.
n
nn
- Monitor service delivery to ensure it meets participant goals and funded supports.
n
nn
- Lead service improvements based on feedback and participant outcomes.
n
n
4. Operational and Financial Management
n
n
- Develop and manage program budgets aligned with NDIS price guides and funding.
n
nn
- Implement efficient staffing and resource planning based on service needs.
n
nn
- Ensure compliance with Service Agreements and schedule of supports.
n
nn
- Submit accurate monthly operational and financial reports to the CEO.
n
n
5. Community and Stakeholder Engagement
n
n
- Build and maintain strong relationships with participants, families, Local Area
n
nn
- Coordinators, support coordinators, and community partners.
n
nn
- Represent Tender Loving Care Disability in community and sector forums.
n
nn
- Facilitate opportunities for participants to connect with and contribute to their communities.
n
n
6. Risk, Incident, and WHS Management
n
n
- Promote a safe workplace culture and support the wellbeing of staff and participants.
n
nn
- Ensure all incidents, hazards, and complaints are managed and reported in line with
n
nn
- NDIS and WHS guidelines.
n
nn
- Liaise with the WHS and Return to Work Manager on workplace injury and recovery
n
nn
- processes.
n
nn
- Identify and mitigate risks in service delivery.
n
n
Qualifications and Experience
n
n
- Minimum 2 years' leadership or management experience in the disability or community sector
n
nn
- Demonstrated knowledge of the NDIS Practice Standards and Code of Conduct
n
nn
- Strong leadership, mentoring, and interpersonal skills
n
nn
- High-level written and verbal communication, including reporting and stakeholder
n
nn
- Strong administrative and digital literacy skills
n
nn
- NDIS Worker Screening Check, Working with Children Check, and National Police
n
nn
- Clearance
n
nn
- Tertiary qualifications in Disability, Community Services, or related fields
n
nn
- Certificate IV or Diploma in Community Services Management
n
nn
- Training in Positive Behaviour Support, trauma-informed practice, or similar
n
n
