About the Role

n

We now have an exciting opportunity to join our dynamic finance division as anAssistant Fund Accountant. This role forms an integral part of the funds management team, where you'll support the delivery of daily, weekly and monthly tasks predominantly for our managed investment scheme product portfolio by handling accounting, taxation, and investment records that enable clear oversight and facilitate external reporting.

In addition to bookkeeping, statutory and regulatory tasks such as ensuring timely tax reporting (e.g., IAS, BAS, and income tax returns), preparing financial statements and facilitating audits, you will also be responsible for ongoing fund management, such as regular reporting and managing the investor registry. The Assistant Fund Accountant role works collaboratively with both internal teams and external clients to address operational matters effectively.

Responsibilities

n

General bookkeeping tasks, including accounts payable, receivable, and bank reconciliations

n

Assist with operational tasks

n

Assist with month end - journals and posting

n

Assist with preparation of statutory reporting - activity statements, tax returns

n

Assist with maintaining unit register

n





Preparation of month end / quarter end / annual investor reporting

n

Assisting in the annual audit of the funds and preparation of the fund financial statements

n

Ensuring that non-routine fund transactions, including new investments, are properly recorded

n

Ensuring that distributions are accurately completed

n

Processing of new investors and investor transfers

n

Compile and distribute monthly management reports

n

Pro-active contribution to, and support of, the planning and implementation of strategic initiatives and process improvements

About You

n

As our newest team member we're looking for:

n

Previous experience in a similar role

n

Tertiary qualification in Accounting, Banking, Finance or a business-related discipline

n

Full or partial CA/CPA/CFA qualification will be highly regarded

n

Knowledge of the managed funds industry and operational experience relating to managed investment schemes

n

Knowledge of financial products and securities

n

Demonstrated experience in unit pricing, review of distribution calculations and preparation of financial statements

n

Intermediate Excel skills with the ability to manage spreadsheets and use formulas

n

Enthusiasm and passion for learning

n

High degree of professionalism and ethical standards

n

Strong written and verbal communication skills
