Sector Manager - Independent Assurance

Based in either Brisbane or Sydney, this senior leadership role is part of AECOM's ANZ team.

n

Responsibilities

n

- Support the execution of sector‐specific strategies and drive profitable growth through effective client engagement and market differentiation.
n
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, industry partners, and stakeholders.
n
- Oversee recruitment, development, and succession planning for your team, including workshare across the sector.
n
- Foster a supportive and inclusive work workplace, empowering team members to take ownership and encouraging professional development.
n
- Ensure delivery excellence across all projects by maintaining high standards of quality, safety, and client satisfaction.
n
- Implement digital and AI initiatives within the sector and uphold project governance and delegation of authority requirements.
n
- Actively participate in technical and project management roles, including GNGs, project risk reviews, and governance reviews.
n
- Champion a Quality Mindset and ensure the consistent application of AECOM's policies and procedures.
n

Qualifications

n

n
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Project Management, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
n




- Minimum 20 years' experience in major civil infrastructure projects.
n
- CPEng or equivalent professional accreditation (desirable).
n
- Strong background in civil design and construction delivery.
n
- Demonstrated experience in independent certification, verification, or assurance roles.
n
- Experience operating under government or principal‐led contract models.
n
- Proven capability leading and being accountable for multi‐disciplinary technical teams.
n
- Experience in client engagement, work winning, market positioning, and delivery excellence.
n
- Strong leadership and team development skills, with a focus on fostering a collaborative and inclusive work environment.
n
- Excellent client engagement abilities, with a demonstrated history of building and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders.
n
- Proficient in project governance and risk management, with experience in implementing approval processes.
n
- Knowledge of digital initiatives and their application within the engineering sector.
n
- Ability to manage complex stakeholder relationships and navigate organizational change.
