Lead - Outcome Data and Analytics
n Brisbane based, 4 days per week in office
n Up to $195,000 + Super

About the opportunity:

n

A large scale well known Australian business is looking for a hands on delivery leader to take ownership of how data and analytics products get built and shipped across a key part of the organisation. You will run a mixed team of engineers, a BI developer and a business analyst, and you will be judged on the outcomes your team lands, not the ceremonies you run. This is a genuine leadership seat with a mandate to grow self service reporting and set the foundations for future data and AI use cases.

What you'll be doing:

- Owning a rolling roadmap of data and analytics products, and deciding what gets built and when based on value and effort
n
- Scoping current products end to end, pulling in the right business and technical people to shape requirements
n
- Turning that scope into delivery plans you personally manage, including risk, timeline and scope changes
n
- Leading, coaching and developing a team spanning permanent staff and service providers
n
- Building genuine relationships with business stakeholders and speaking their language rather than technical jargon
n




- Applying agile thinking pragmatically rather than running process for its own sake
n
- Reporting honestly and early when something is at risk of slipping
n

What we need to see:

n

n
- Real, personal accountability for delivering data or technology products, not broad programme involvement
n
- Direct people leadership including performance conversations and development planning
n
- A track record of communicating with confidence across business and technical audiences
n
- Comfort managing shifting scope, dependencies and competing priorities
n
- The ability to talk in specifics about the value you have delivered, whether that is cost saved, hours returned, revenue protected or decisions improved
n
- Enough technical grounding in data and analytics to lead engineers credibly, even if you are not writing code day to day
n

Bonus points:

- Background in oil and gas, utilities or another operationally complex industry
n
- Exposure to Snowflake and Power BI
n
- Experience building out self service analytics capability from a lower maturity base
n
