Clinical Services Manager
n
Nexia Aged Care is seeking an experienced and values-driven Clinical Services Manager to commence as soon as possible in a full-time, fixed-term position through to December 2027.
n
Reporting to the Residence Manager, you will provide leadership, management and oversight of clinical services across the facility. You will ensure residents receive safe, effective, evidence-based and person-centred care that promotes their rights, dignity, choice, independence and quality of life.
n
You will lead clinical governance, risk management, workforce capability, AN-ACC performance and continuous improvement while providing direction and support to the Clinical Care Coordinator and broader clinical team.
n
Key responsibilities
n
n
- Lead and maintain the facility's clinical governance and risk-management systems.
n
- Provide leadership and direction to the Clinical Care Coordinator and clinical workforce.
n
- Oversee the day-to-day delivery of safe, effective and person-centred clinical care.
n
- Monitor resident outcomes and review residents with complex or high-risk care needs.
n
- Oversee resident assessments, care planning, scheduled care-plan reviews and clinical documentation.
n
- Ensure care plans are reviewed following incidents, deterioration, hospital transfers and changes in residents' needs.
n
- Review clinical incidents and ensure investigations, notifications, open disclosure and follow-up actions are completed.
n
- Ensure incident reports are thoroughly reviewed, finalised and closed within required timeframes.
n
- Oversee SIRS identification, investigation, reporting and compliance with legislative requirements.
n
- Submit SIRS notifications and follow-up information through the My Aged Care provider portal.
n
- Monitor clinical indicators, including falls, pressure injuries, wounds, weight loss, medication incidents, infections,
behaviours of concern and hospital transfers.
n
- Collect, validate and submit National Aged Care Mandatory Quality Indicator Program data within required timeframes.
n
- Lead clinical governance meetings and monitor corrective and preventative actions.
n
- Oversee medication-management systems, restrictive practices and infection prevention and control.
n
- Monitor AN-ACC classifications, reassessment opportunities, supporting documentation and funding outcomes.
n
- Monitor care-minute performance and support appropriate workforce and clinical-resource allocation.
n
- Support recruitment, onboarding, orientation, education and performance management of clinical staff.
n
- Promote clinical education, professional development and workforce capability.
n
- Liaise with residents, representatives, GPs, allied health professionals and external healthcare providers.
n
- Support registration, re-registration, regulatory assessments and organisational readiness.
n
- Participate in audits, policy reviews and continuous-improvement activities.
n
- Promote a positive workplace culture based on accountability, respect, teamwork and resident-centred care.

About you
n
You will have:
n
n
- Current registration as a Registered Nurse with AHPRA.
n
- A minimum of five years' post-registration clinical experience.
n
- Demonstrated senior clinical leadership experience within residential aged care.
n
- Strong knowledge of the Aged Care Act 2024, Strengthened Aged Care Quality Standards, Statement of Rights and Aged Care Code of Conduct.
n
- Experience in clinical governance, risk management, incident investigation, SIRS and open disclosure.
n
- Strong clinical assessment, care-planning and decision‐making capabilities.
n
- Experience managing high-risk clinical areas, including falls, wounds, medication management, nutrition and hydration, infection prevention, restrictive practices and palliative care.
n
- Sound understanding of AN-ACC funding, supporting documentation and care-minute requirements.
n
- Demonstrated ability to lead, mentor and manage clinical teams.
n
- Experience managing workforce performance, clinical education and operational priorities.
n
- Strong written and verbal communication, organisational and problem‐solving skills.
n
- Confidence using electronic care‐management, medication‐management and clinical‐reporting systems.
n
- A current National Police Check suitable for aged‐care employment.
n
- A current NDIS Worker Screening Check.
n
- Evidence of compliance with applicable vaccination requirements.
n
- No current Aged Care or NDIS banning order.
n

Desirable
n
n
- Postgraduate qualifications in aged care, gerontology, clinical nursing, leadership or management.
n
- Experience supporting registration, re‐registration and regulatory assessments.
n
- Experience in quality assurance, continuous improvement or clinical‐audit systems.
n
- Experience with AN-ACC optimisation, care‐minute monitoring and NQIP reporting.
n
- Additional qualifications in infection prevention, wound care, dementia care or clinical governance.
n
