About the Role
n
As an Acting Family Educator, you play a key role in the school's Mission and Identity. You will help build strong partnerships between families, the parish and the school community, tailoring initiatives to meet local needs.
n
You will work closely with:
n
n
- the principal and school leadership
n
- parents and families
n
- the parish priest and parish staff
n
- the Religious Education Coordinator
n
- wider church agencies.
n
n
About You
n
You are someone who lives their Catholic faith and brings it to life for others. You have a heart for ministry and a passion for helping families grow in their relationship with God and the Church. You will bring:
n
n
- a strong and active commitment to the practice of the Catholic Faith as a baptised Catholic
n
- experience in parish/pastoral ministry, such as but not limited to Sacramental program, family/children's liturgy, baptismal group, prayer groups
n
- ability to articulate an understanding of the evangelising and catechising mission of the Catholic Church, and present church doctrine and scripture in the appropriate context of time, place and culture
n
- competency and creativity in initiating, organising and facilitating a range of opportunities and forums to connect/reconnect and engage parents and families with the religious life of the school and parish
n
- highly developed interpersonal, communication, presentation, time management and organisational skills
n
- commitment to participate in and contribute to a formation program facilitated by the SCS Central Office
n
- a strategic outlook and understands the school within the broader educational, ecclesial and communal context
n
- refined project management skills to deliver agreed initiatives in a timely and effective manner.
n
n
You will have attained:
n
n
- tertiary qualifications, preferably at Degree level
n
- four (4) years' experience in teaching, parish/ecclesial ministry with adults and families, or as a Family Educator.
n
n
