Job Description
Sutherland Shire Council is seeking enthusiastic and qualified Certificate III Early Childhood Educators to join our Early Education & Child Protection Team. We currently have part-time and full-time opportunities, with both temporary and permanent vacancies across our services.
n
In this role, you will provide compassionate, high-quality education and care for children from birth to six years, supporting their wellbeing and learning every day.
n
You'll be hands‐on, engaging with and supervising children, assisting with daily routines and maintaining a safe, clean environment. You'll contribute to engaging, play‐based educational programs tailored to each child's interests and development, while working closely with families the team.

What You'll Do

- Observe and document children's learning, development and engagement in the centre program.
n
- Contribute to planning and delivering play‐based learning programs.
n
- Build supportive and collaborative relationships with families and children.
n
- Collaborate with colleagues and engage in ongoing professional development
n
n
What You'll Bring
n
n
- Completed Certificate III in Education and Care.
n
- Current First Aid qualification HLTAID010, HLTAID011 and HLTAID012
n
- CPR Certification HLTAID009
n
- Evidence of Child Protection accreditation i.e. 'Identify and Respond to children and young people at risk CHCPRT025'
n
- NSW Working with Children Check.
n
- National Foundations of Child Safety Training Certificate (Geccko)
n
- Sound knowledge of the NQF, including EYLF, NQS and relevant legislation
n
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative, professional approach
n
n

- Hourly Rate: $35.80 gross per hour plus 12% superannuation.
n
- Package: $70,742 gross p.a. (salary paid pro-rata for part time roles) plus 12% superannuation. The Early Childhood Education and Care (ECEC) Worker Retention Allowance will be applied to these roles in addition with Federal Government guidelines.
n
- Hours of work: Part-time and full-time, temporary and permanent opportunities available. Applicants must be available to work a range of shifts between the hours of 6:00am - 7:00pm to support the operational requirements of the centres.
n
