Job Description
Clinical Nurse – Urology
n
Location: St Andrews War Memorial Hospital, Brisbane. Employment: Permanent, Full Time/Part Time.
n
Remuneration: $55.63 – $59.61 per hour + 12% superannuation + not‐for‐profit salary packaging. Additional penalties apply.

Role Summary
n
As a Clinical Nurse – Urology you will provide clinical leadership within the Urology service, support development of care pathways and ensure the department delivers safe, effective, high‐quality patient care.
n
Responsibilities
n
n
- Coordinate the clinical and operational readiness of the Urology service.
n
- Support the Clinical Nurse Manager and Clinical Nurse Coordinators in the ongoing development, coordination and delivery of a high‐quality Urology service.
n
- Ensure equipment, instrumentation and consumables are available and prepared for upcoming operating lists.
n
- Maintain and update surgeon preference cards and theatre pick lists to support efficient and safe theatre workflow.
n
- Coordinate the introduction, evaluation and standardisation of new equipment, instrumentation and consumables in collaboration with surgeons, CSSD and the multidisciplinary team.
n
- Mentor, coach and support junior staff, graduates and new team members to foster professional growth and excellence in urology nursing.
n
- Coordinate education, competency assessment and ongoing professional development within the Urology specialty.
n
- Act as a clinical resource for the multidisciplinary team, promoting best practice and providing expert support in urology nursing.
n
- Drive quality improvement initiatives with a focus on patient safety, evidence‐based practice and continuous service improvement.
n

Qualifications
n
n
- Bachelor of Nursing degree (or equivalent) and current AHPRA registration.
n
- Significant perioperative nursing experience with demonstrated expertise in Urology.
n
- Previous experience in a Clinical Nurse, Clinical Facilitator or senior perioperative role is highly desirable.
n
- Demonstrated leadership, mentoring and coaching skills.
n
- Experience coordinating specialty equipment, instrumentation and clinical resources.
n
- Excellent organisational, communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build effective relationships across the multidisciplinary team.
n
- Commitment to patient safety, quality improvement and evidence‐based practice.
n
- Australian working rights (no sponsorship offered).

- Availability to work across AM and PM shifts with participation in an on‐call roster.
n
- Willingness to meet vaccination and immunisation requirements in line with hospital infection prevention and control standards.
n
