Job Description

We are seeking an enthusiastic and skilled Barista to join the team at GURUS CAFETERIA in Albury, NSW. This is a full-time/Part time position where you will be one the face of our café, delivering exceptional coffee experiences and outstanding customer service to our valued patrons. As a Barista, you will play a crucial role in creating the welcoming atmosphere that defines our brand and ensures customers return time and time again. This role is based on-site at our Albury location and offers the opportunity to work within a agile hospitality environment where your skills and passion for coffee will be genuinely appreciated.

What you'll be doing

n

Preparing and serving high-quality espresso-based beverages, including cappuccinos, lattes, flat whites, and speciality coffees

n

Operating and maintaining espresso machines, grinders, and other café equipment to ensure consistent quality and safety standards

n

Taking customer orders accurately and efficiently, providing knowledgeable recommendations about coffee and menu offerings

n

Maintaining a clean and hygienic work environment, including the espresso bar, equipment, and customer areas

n

Processing payments and managing the point-of-sale system with accuracy and professionalism

n

Preparing food items such as toasted sandwiches and light snacks as required

n

Building positive relationships with customers and providing exceptional service that encourages loyalty and repeat business

n

Working collaboratively with team members during busy periods to ensure smooth operations

n

Restocking supplies and managing inventory levels to support daily operations

n

Adhering to food safety, health, and hygiene regulations at all times

n

What we're looking for

n

Proven experience as a Barista or in a similar café or coffee preparation role

n

Strong knowledge of coffee types, brewing methods, and latte art techniques

n





Proficiency in operating espresso machines and café equipment

n

Excellent customer service skills with the ability to engage positively with diverse clientele

n

Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards of food and beverage preparation

n

Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment whilst maintaining quality

n

Good communication and teamwork abilities

n

Flexibility with shift patterns, including availability for early morning, afternoon, and weekend shifts

n

Current food handling certificate or willingness to obtain one

n

A genuine passion for coffee and hospitality is highly desirable
