Short Description

Design and coordinate Dry Fire systems across commercial, industrial and data centre projects. Produce compliant AutoCAD and Revit drawings, attend design meetings and support project delivery from concept through to completion.

Ideal candidates will have Fire Protection design experience, strong AutoCAD capabilities and knowledge of Australian Standards relating to Fire Detection, EWIS and Dry Fire systems.

Our client is a leading Fire Protection contractor delivering design, installation, service and maintenance solutions across NSW and Queensland.

Established for more than 20 years, the business has built a strong reputation delivering projects across commercial buildings, industrial facilities, high-rise developments and mission-critical data centres. Due to continued growth and significant investment in their Design Team, they are seeking an experienced Dry Fire Designer to support an expanding portfolio of projects.

About the Role

Working alongside an experienced Design and Construction team, you will be responsible for producing high-quality Dry Fire system designs across a diverse range of commercial, industrial and data centre projects.

Reporting directly to the Construction Manager, you will work closely with Project Managers and site teams to ensure all designs are practical, compliant and delivered in line with project requirements.





This is an excellent opportunity for a designer looking to work on larger and more technically challenging projects, including mission-critical data centres, while advancing their career within a growing business.

Duties

- Design Fire Detection and Alarm Systems.
- Design EWIS Systems.
- Design VESDA and Aspirating Smoke Detection Systems.
- Design Special Hazards and Gas Suppression Systems.
- Produce detailed AutoCAD and Revit drawings.
- Review project specifications and construction documentation.
- Attend design coordination meetings.
- Liaise with builders, consultants and project teams.
- Ensure compliance with Australian Standards and NCC requirements.
- Conduct site inspections and resolve design-related issues.
- Support successful project delivery across multiple projects.

Skills & Experience

- Experience working within the Fire Protection industry.
- Previous Dry Fire design experience.
- AutoCAD experience is essential.
- Revit experience is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of AS1670 and relevant Australian Standards.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience working on commercial construction projects.
- Minimum 12 months' experience within the Fire Protection industry.
