We are seeking an experienced Insurance Building Estimator to join our team, based in the Melbourne Metro region/ Melbourne North and surrounds.

n

This is a dedicated estimating and assessment role within an established region, working alongside a supportive team and experienced operational team.

About the Role

n

As an Insurance Building Estimator, you will be responsible for conducting on-site assessments of insurance claims, identifying damage, preparing detailed scopes of work, and producing accurate repair estimates.

n

You will work closely with insurers, policyholders, and internal teams to ensure assessments are completed efficiently, accurately, and in line with insurer requirements and industry standards.

n

This role is based in Melbourne Metro, with work primarily across metropolitan Melbourne and surrounding areas as required.

Key Responsibilities

- Conduct on-site assessments of residential and small commercial insurance claims
n
- Identify damage and determine appropriate repair methodologies
n
- Prepare detailed scopes of work and repair estimates
n
- Review engineering reports, specialist reports, and supporting documentation
n
- Provide practical building advice and recommendations to insurers and internal stakeholders
n




- Ensure scopes and estimates align with insurer requirements and Australian building standards
n
- Liaise professionally with policyholders throughout the assessment process
n
- Maintain accurate records, reports, photographs, and claim documentation
n
- Work collaboratively with internal operations teams to support efficient claim progression
n
- Utilise estimating and job management systems, including Prime Ecosystem (advantageous)
n

What We're Looking For

n

n
- Proven experience as an Insurance Building Estimator, Assessor, Supervisor, or similar role
n
- Strong knowledge of residential construction methods and Australian building standards
n
- Ability to accurately scope and estimate repair works
n
- Experience interpreting engineering reports, building scopes, and insurance documentation
n
- Robust attention to detail and organisational skills
n
- Excellent communication skills with a customer-focused approach
n
- Ability to manage a high-volume assessment portfolio efficiently
n
- Experience with estimating or job management systems (Prime Ecosystem highly regarded)
n
- Current driver's licence
n
