Job Description

This is a senior leadership role for an experienced estimating qualified who enjoys both strategic leadership and hands-on delivery.

Leading a team of three estimators, you will oversee the full estimating function across head contract tenders, including:

n

Lump sum construct-only tenders

n

Design & Construct submissions

n

Negotiated opportunities and early contractor involvement (where applicable)

n

Working closely with ourPre-Construction Manager, who leads non-price submission strategy, you will be responsible for ensuring pricing excellence, commercial rigour, and risk-managed tender outcomes.

This is not a purely managerial position. We are looking for someone who remains deeply engaged in the detail-reviewing methodology, interrogating risk, validating assumptions, and contributing directly to key project estimates.

Key Responsibilities

n

- Lead, mentor, and develop the estimating team
n
- Prepare and review detailed cost plans, estimates, and tender submissions
n
- Drive pricing strategy and ensure competitive, commercially sound bids
n
- Review drawings, specifications, consultant documentation, and contract conditions
n
- Identify pricing risks, procurement opportunities, and value engineering initiatives
n
- Maintain and continuously improve estimating systems, cost databases, rates,



templates, and tender workflows
n
- Build and strengthen subcontractor and supplier relationships
n
- Collaborate with operations, project delivery, consultants, and clients during bid development
n
- Provide quality assurance across all tender submissions
n
- Support strategic growth through accurate and compelling tender outcomes
n

About You

n

n
- You are a commercially astute estimating leader with strong technical construction knowledge and a proactive approach to winning work.
n

n

You will ideally bring:

n

n
- Extensive estimating experience in commercial construction, fitout, refurbishment, or related sectors
n
- Experience across bothnew build construction and interiors
n
- Previous leadership experience managing estimators or tender teams
n
- Strong understanding of construction methodologies, pricing structures, subcontractor procurement, and delivery risk
n
- Experience with head contract tendering, including D&C; procurement
n
- Knowledge of project scheduling, site operations, contract management, and consultant/client engagement
n
- Strong attention to detail and commercial judgement
n
- Relevant tertiary qualifications and/or trade background (highly regarded)
