The Role

n

Reporting to the Head of Architecture, the Solution Architect is responsible for the design of solutions and systems in line with documented business requirements and strategy.

n

This role will be permanent full time, based in either Melbourne or Perth.

n

Some of the key functions of this role include:

n

n
- Collaborate with the business stakeholders, Project Managers and Business Analysts to understand the goals, requirements and constraints of projects and alignment to broader ABN strategic architecture roadmaps
n
- Provide input to project briefs and investment/business cases ensuring these details the broad objectives, risks, options and implications of each initiative
n
- Take accountability for the identification and assessment of solution options which will realise the project requirements
n
- Liaise with vendors as required to identify solution options or components
n
- Identify preferred architectural options and clearly articulate the rationale for the recommendation considering each stakeholder's view
n
- Overall solution design including consideration of both functional and non-functional considerations such as security, risk/compliance, performance, scalability, and usability
n
- Ensure the actual solution development conforms to the recommended solution architecture and work with project teams and business stakeholders to resolve areas of non-conformance
n
- Provide technology thought leadership, mentoring and guidance to the project team members and wider IT team
n




- Ensure solution architecture activities on projects are delivered in accordance with ABN architecture methodologies, standards, tools, repositories and conventions

To be successful in this role, the following qualities and experiences will be considered favourably:

n

n
- Experience in the design and development of complex business systems
n
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience in contemporary platform-based solution architecture patterns across business, application, information and technology domains
n
- Proven solution delivery experience using both platform and custom software-based solutionsSkills and experience in solution areas including Web Based Solutions, Mobility Solutions, Integration, Enterprise Applications, and Business Intelligence/Reporting
n
- Demonstrated experience in Azure based solution design, patterns and practices
n
- Current, up to date Azure, TOGAF and / or ITIL certifications (or be working towards them)
n
- Experience in the evaluation and selection of various technology solutions or components to meet solution requirements
n
- Strong written and verbal communication skills including the ability to facilitate workshops across IT and business stakeholders
n
- Skills and experience in a variety of software development methodologies
n
