Job Description
FAMILY WORKER - 2 Positions - Wingecarribee 35hrs and Goulburn 17.5hrs
n
1/ Wingecarribee LGA – Full time – 35 hours/week – office located in Bowral
n
2/ Goulburn/Mulwaree LGA – Part time - 17.5 hours/week – office located in Goulburn
n
Home-Start Family Workers aim to improve the outcomes and wellbeing of families with children 0-8 years. Home-Start works from a family centred and strengths-based approach that promotes self-determination and the confidence to achieve meaningful and sustainable outcomes.
n
The worker provides home or centre-based support to assist families to build on their:
n
n
- Parenting and life skills
n
- Understanding of child development
n
- Informal and formal support networks
n
- Knowledge and access to relevant services
n
n
Wingecarribee Family Worker also facilitates a regular Supported Playgroup.
n
We are looking for people who have:
n
n
- Formal tertiary qualifications in Social Work, Welfare,
Health or allied areas relevant to this position. (Diploma as minimum requirement)
n
- Excellent communication, relationship building, and administration skills
n
- High level computer skills
n
- Demonstrated experience in supporting vulnerable families
n
- Demonstrated community sector experience
n
- Demonstrated experience in preparing workplace documents, reports, and data collection
n
- Knowledge and experience in the facilitation of evidence-based parenting programs
n
- Current NSW driver's license and is medically fit to drive
n
n
These roles are funded by the Department of Communities and Justice (DCJ).
n
