The Opportunity

n

To assist with our growth, we are looking for an energetic and passionate Culinary Innovation Assistant to join our R&D; Team.

n

Key Responsibilities

n

You will be responsible for preparing food products and customer samples, ensuring accuracy to recipe, process and required packaging

n

Assist with food preparation for customer presentation and participate in the improvement and creative process

n

Facilitate accurate data entry in our database

n

Dispatch samples to customers, ensuring accurate delivery information, and provide assistance with freight documents

n

Assist in the replenishment of food ingredients in the lab and kitchen

n

Facilitate clear and efficient communication with relevant teams and line managers regarding project updates, alterations to timelines, or any encountered obstacles

n

Clearly define the details of the product sample production process to ensure alignment with the identified manufacturing capabilities

n

Assist with customer presentations as well as internal presentations

n

Basic food preparation tasks such as chopping, peeling, slicing, measuring and portioning of ingredients as required

n

Facilitate clear and impactful communication while actively participating in a collaborative work environment that cultivates mutual support

n

Collaborate with product developers to discuss intricacies relevant to customer sample production

n





Demonstrate flexibility in responding to evolving tasks and shifting priorities within assigned projects

n

Propose new ideas and recommendations to enhance both the sample-making process and day-to-day kitchen and laboratory practices

n

What qualifications/experience will you need?

n

Tertiary qualification in Food Science and Technology or relevant qualifications

n

Proficiency in product development and commercialisation within a manufacturing environment

n

Minimum of 2 years working in a 'hands-on' Product Development role

n

Culinary/cookery and recipe development knowledge

n

Technical understanding of functional ingredients

n

Knowledge of up-to-date Food Legislation

n

Good knowledge of Google Chrome, Sheets, Docs & Drive.
