Criminal Defence Lawyer in North Melbourne (immediate start)

A busy criminal law firm based in North Melbourne seeks a full-time lawyer(relevant experience preferred) to become a valued member of our small team.

n

We operate weekdays between the hours of 9am-6pm and provide a friendly working workplace.

n

Responsibilities include:

n

n
- appearing invarious hearings in theChildren's Court, Magistrates'Courtand County Courts on a daily basis;
n
- having autonomous conduct of criminal files in both the summary and committal streams;
n
- liaising with clients, Court staff, Prosecution agencies and various external organizations; and
n
- Instructing and working closely with Barristers.

Skills required:

n

n
- strong advocacy skills;
n
- excellent written, interpersonaland communication skills;
n
- proven experience in administrative, professionaland/or legal roles; and
n
- ability to travel to different courts (driver licence required).
n
