Penelope Bistro is looking for a passionate and experienced Chef de Partie to join our talented kitchen team.

Located in the heart of Fortitude Valley, Penelope is a vibrant European-inspired bistro renowned for exceptional food, premium produce and genuine hospitality. Working alongside an experienced leadership team, you'll play a key role in delivering consistently outstanding dining experiences while continuing to develop your culinary career.

About the Role

n

As Chef de Partie, you'll be responsible for running your section, maintaining exceptional food quality and supporting junior chefs during service. This is a hands-on role suited to someone who thrives in a fast-paced, professional kitchen and takes pride in every plate.

What You'll Be Doing

n

n
- Managing your section during preparation and service.
n
- Preparing and presenting dishes to a consistently high standard.
n
- Maintaining food safety and hygiene standards.
n
- Assisting with stock rotation, ordering and minimising waste.
n
- Working collaboratively with the Head Chef and Sous Chef.
n
- Supporting and mentoring junior kitchen team members.
n
- Contributing ideas for menu development and daily specials.

About You

n

n
- Previous experience as a Chef de Partie or an experienced Demi Chef ready to step up.
n
- Strong knowledge of modern Australian or European cuisine.
n
- Excellent organisational and time management skills.
n
- A positive attitude and strong work ethic.
n
- Passion for quality ingredients and attention to detail.
n
- Ability to remain calm and organised during busy services.
n
- Relevant cookery qualifications and current food safety knowledge.
