Lead a High-Performance CNC Manufacturing Operation Supporting Formula 1, Motorsport and Aerospace Customers Worldwide

We're looking for an experienced Machine Shop Manager to lead our CNC machining operation at our Gold Coast headquarters. This is an opportunity to take ownership of a large-scale, high-performance manufacturing environment containing 38 CNC machines, a team of 50 skilled machinists and apprentices, and some of the most advanced machining work in Australian manufacturing.

The Opportunity

n

As Machine Shop Manager, you'll lead all aspects of daily machining operations, ensuring production targets, quality standards and customer expectations are consistently achieved.

n

This is a highly visible leadership role where you'll balance people leadership, technical expertise and operational performance.

n

You won't be sitting behind a desk all day.



You'll be actively involved on the floor, supporting your team, solving technical challenges and driving improvements across the operation.

n

Key Responsibilities

n

n
- Lead, coach and develop CNC Machinists, Team Leaders and Apprentices
n
- Manage daily production across 3 & 5-axis machining centres
n
- Support machining strategies, setups, tooling and process optimisation
n
- Drive productivity, efficiency and continuous improvement initiativesCollaborate with Engineering, Production and Quality teams
n
- Review first-offs, prove-outs and production readiness
n
- Ensure the highest standards of safety, quality and operational performance
n
- Build capability across the team through mentoring and technical leadership
n
- Monitor shop performance, workflow and resource planning
n

About You

n

We're looking for someone who combines strong technical machining knowledge with proven leadership capability.

n

You'll bring:

n

- Extensive CNC machining experience within a production environment
n
- Previous experience leading teams in a machine shop or manufacturing operation
n
- Strong understanding of 3 & 5-axis machining processes
n
- Ability to read engineering drawings and solve complex machining challenges
n
- A hands-on leadership style with a passion for developing people
n
- Continuous improvement mindset with a focus on quality, safety and delivery
n
