The Standards Potting Team Leader is responsible for growing and maintaining plants from tube stock up to 300mm sizes. This is a hands‐on leadership role focused on meeting production standards and targets through effective supervision, planning and staff support.

Key Responsibilities

n

n
- Coordinate daily potting and maintenance tasks across the standard stock team, which consists of between 4-6 staff.
n
- Provide leadership, direction and mentoring to standard stock workers
n
- Complete and maintain accurate potting records daily and ensure data integrity for inventory and reporting
n
- Ensure scheduled production targets are met on time and in line with quality expectations
n
- Monitor growing pad maintenance including weeding, blocking up and hygiene standards
n
- Oversee accurate selection, preparation and tagging of stock
n
- Coordinate picking of stock when required for dispatch
n
- Promote protected working practices including proper PPE use and machinery operation
n




- Liaise with the Operations Manager to resolve issues, improve processes and manage supplies
n
- Assist with onboarding and integration of new team members
n

Skills & Experience

n

n
- Practical knowledge of horticultural production practices, particularly tube stock to 300mm
n
- Detailed plant knowledge in relation to species types and growing characteristic
n
- Proven ability to lead and supervise a production team in a nursery environment
n
- Accurate record‐keeping and strong communication skills
n
- Proficiency with potting machinery and nursery equipment – forklift/bobcat licence an advantage
n
- Physically fit and able to work in a fast‐paced, outdoor production environment
n
- Understanding of and commitment to safe working practices, including chemical handling and PPE requirements
n
- Organised, self‐motivated and focused on delivering production outcomes
n
- Relevant horticultural qualification (Cert II or III) advantageous but not essential
n
