We're recruiting on behalf of a progressive, family-owned mixed farming operation in the Denman, Hunter Valley region. This is an outstanding opportunity for an experienced Senior Farm Hand who wants to progress into a Farm Manager role in the near future.

About the Role

n

This is a hands-on mixed farming position working across premium hay production, broadacre cropping and a commercial Angus cattle enterprise. You'll work closely with the owners while taking increasing responsibility for the day-to-day operation and long-term planning of the farm.

n

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys taking ownership, leading by example and is looking for genuine long-term career progression.

What You'll Be Doing

n

Hay production, including lucerne management from paddock preparation through to harvest

n

Operating and managing centre pivot irrigation systems

n

Livestock management across a commercial Angus cattle operation

n

Broadacre cropping, including barley and wheat

n

Operating, servicing and maintaining tractors, hay equipment and general farm machinery

n

Pasture establishment, spraying, fertiliser application and weed control

n





Coordinating seasonal workloads and responding to changing weather conditions

n

Maintaining farm infrastructure and implementing preventative maintenance programs

n

We're looking for someone who can step into the role with strong practical farming knowledge, including:

n

Proven experience with lucerne production is essential, including understanding cutting schedules, raking, baling and the timing required to consistently produce quality hay

n

Experience in commercial cattle operations

n

Broadacre cropping experience, particularly barley and wheat

n

Solid machinery operation and maintenance skills

n

Ability to work independently while planning and prioritising workloads

n

HR truck licence and current driver's licence

n
