Job Description
Are you an experienced investment banking professional looking for more responsibility, better senior exposure and a clearer path to becoming a trusted adviser?
n
This is an opportunity to join one of Australia's most highly regarded independent corporate advisory firms, advising founders, boards, private equity sponsors, family offices, entrepreneurs and leading corporates on complex M&A;, capital raisings and strategic transactions.
n
The firm has built a strong reputation for high-quality advice, senior-level client access and a hands‐on approach to transaction execution. With a strong pipeline of mandates and continued growth across the business, they are now looking to add an experienced Associate II/III or early-stage Vice President to their team.
n
This role is ideal for someone who wants to move beyond pure execution support and step into a more visible, commercially involved position, working closely with senior bankers, clients and decision-makers across the full transaction lifecycle.
n
The Opportunity
n
You will play a central role across live transactions, origination support, client engagement and junior team leadership.
n
You will be trusted to manage key workstreams, drive analysis, oversee junior bankers, prepare high-quality client materials and contribute directly to transaction strategy. You will work in a lean, high-performing team where strong performers are given genuine responsibility and direct exposure to senior clients.
n
This is a strong prospect for someone who wants to accelerate their development in a high‐calibre advisory environment,
build deeper client-facing capability and position themselves for long-term progression in investment banking.
n
Key Responsibilities
n
n
- Manage key workstreams across M&A;, capital raisings, strategic advisory and corporate finance mandates.
n
- Build, review and oversee financial models, valuation analysis, scenario analysis and transaction structuring work.
n
- Prepare and review pitch books, information memoranda, board papers, management presentations and transaction documentation.
n
- Coordinate due diligence processes, manage transaction timelines, identify key issues and ensure workstreams are delivered to a high standard.
n
- Work directly with clients, attend meetings, support senior bankers and help manage communication across transactions.
n
- Supervise Analysts and junior Associates, review their work and help develop their technical and commercial capability.
n
- Contribute to market mapping, sector research, strategic ideas, pitch preparation and new business initiatives.
n
n
What We're Looking For
n
n
- 4-8 years of relevant experience across investment banking, corporate advisory, M&A;, transaction services, valuations, private equity or a closely related field.
n
- Strong financial modelling, valuation and transaction execution capability.
n
- Experience preparing high-quality client materials, including pitch books, information memoranda,
board papers and transaction documentation.
n
- Ability to manage multiple workstreams, coordinate stakeholders and keep transactions moving under pressure.
n
- Strong commercial judgement, attention to detail and ability to think beyond the numbers.
n
- Confident written and verbal communication skills, with the maturity to engage with clients and senior stakeholders.
n
- Experience reviewing the work of junior team members and helping them improve.
n
- A genuine interest in M&A;, capital markets, business strategy and corporate advisory.
n
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Commerce, Economics, Law or a related discipline.
n
n
Why This Role Stands Out
n
n
- You will not be sitting behind the scenes waiting for exposure. You will be expected to take ownership of workstreams and play a visible role across transactions.
n
- Work closely with experienced advisers who have strong relationships across corporates, private capital, family offices and entrepreneurs.
n
- Advise sophisticated clients on meaningful transactions, strategic decisions and capital events.
n
- Join a firm that is entrepreneurial, nimble and highly regarded in the market.
n
- Gain the client exposure, commercial judgement and execution experience required to progress toward senior advisory roles.
n
- Work in a close-knit, high-performance team that values quality, accountability, commercial thinking and long-term relationships.
n
- Competitive base salary plus performance-based bonus, commensurate with experience.
n
n
All applications will be treated as strictly confidential.
