Location and Award

Department of Health Tasmania – Launceston General Hospital, LGH Charles Street, Launceston, North region.
n
Position: Registered Nurse, Grade 3-4 under the Nurses and Midwives (Tasmanian State Service) Award.
n
Salary: $80,524 – $109,175 pro rata per annum, with superannuation and allowances as listed below.

Team Environment
n
The Emergency Department team at LGH consists of emergency physicians, nurses, paramedics and support staff, working in a high‐pressure, life‐saving setting that values advanced medical protocols, rapid response, and inter‐departmental collaboration.
n
Role Responsibilities
n
n
- Provide expert, patient‐centred nursing care in a high‐pressure Emergency Department setting.
n
- Deliver advanced clinical care for critically ill or injured patients, including trauma, cardiac, and paediatric emergencies.
n
- Safely manage deteriorating patients with prompt interventions.
n
- Collaborate with the care team for comprehensive critical care management.
n
- Manage multiple patient presentations simultaneously in a dynamic and unpredictable environment.
n

Appointment Details
n
n
- Full‐time or part‐time, permanent, rotational shift work up to 76 hours per fortnight; hours negotiable to accommodate successful applicant.
n
- This selection process may also be used to fill future similar vacancies for twelve months from publication.
n
n
Salary and Allowances
n
n
- Salary range conforms to the Nurses and Midwives (Tasmania State Service) Agreement 2023.
n
- Post‐graduate allowance of up to 10% based on qualification type.
n
- Salary packaging includes living expenses up to $9,010 and meal entertainment up to $2,650 FBT year.
n

Essential Criteria
n
n
- Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia as a Registered Nurse.
n
- Experience in emergency or critical care settings is preferred.
n
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a high‐pressure, multidisciplinary environment.
