Job Title: Cartage Coordinator / Transport Allocator

Key Responsibilities
n
n
- Fleet Allocation: Direct and schedule daily routes for company drivers and sub-contractors (rigid, semi, and sideloaders) to optimize vehicle utilization.
n
- Wharf & Terminal Operations: Coordinate container movements, VBS / 1-Stop slot bookings, and de-hire returns while managing queue times to prevent demurrage charges.
n
- Driver Management: Serve as the primary contact for drivers on the road- resolving real-time delays, re-routing around traffic, and managing operational updates.
n
- Client Communication: Provide proactive updates to key accounts regarding transit progress, delivery windows, and priority requests.
n
- Compliance: Ensure all operational run plans adhere strictly to Chain of Responsibility (CoR) requirements, heavy vehicle mass/dimension limits, and driver fatigue regulations.
n
- Administration & Systems:
Maintain clean data entry within the Transport Management System (TMS), manage consignment notes, and track Proof of Deliveries (PODs).
n

Required Skills & Experience
n
n
- Industry Experience: A minimum of 2 years working as a Transport Allocator, Cartage Coordinator, or Dispatcher within metro distribution or container drayage.
n
- Systems Proficiency: Demonstrated experience using Transport Management Systems (TMS) and industry booking portals (e.g., 1-Stop / VBS, CargoWise).
n
- Geographic Knowledge: Deep understanding of local industrial precincts, heavy vehicle routes, and metro freight corridors.
n
- Problem-Solving Ability: Proven track record of quick decision-making and adapting schedules under pressure when unexpected disruptions occur.
n
- Communication: Clear, confident communication skills when liaising with drivers, warehouse managers, and corporate clients.
n
