NEC Australia is seeking an experienced Business Development Manager to join our sales team and play a key role in expanding our footprint across Government and Enterprise markets.

About the role
n
As a Business Development Manager, you will proactively engage with new and existing customers to promote NEC's broad portfolio of ICT solutions. Operating within a defined geographic region and/or market sector, you will identify opportunities, develop tailored value propositions, and drive sales outcomes aligned to annual targets.
n
You will work closely with internal teams—including Sales Specialists, Enterprise Architects, Marketing, and Commercial—to develop customer‐centric solutions and long‐term partnerships.

Key responsibilities
n
Reporting to the National Sales Manager, your key responsibilities will include the following:
n
n
- Build and expand NEC's customer base across Enterprise and Government sectors.
n
- Identify, qualify, and develop new sales opportunities aligned with customer needs.
n
- Prepare and deliver high‐impact proposals, presentations, and solution recommendations.
n
- Develop and maintain a robust pipeline with accurate forecasting and documentation.
n
- Manage and grow key client relationships to ensure exceptional customer satisfaction.
n
- Strategically assess accounts to identify new revenue streams and long‐term value.
n
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure alignment and successful solution delivery.
n
n
What You'll Bring
n
n
- Minimum of 10 plus years' experience in a consultative selling role, preferably within an IT Services company
n
- Demonstrated experience in IT Managed Services, BPO, Systems Integration, Security, XaaS, Unified Communications,
Contact Centre environments and digital software solutions.
n
- Proven success managing complex, long‐cycle sales engagements.
n
- Ability to influence and engage C‐suite executives and senior stakeholders.
n
- Strong communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
n
- Ability to work autonomously and drive results in a fast‐paced sales environment.
n
- A strong network of industry contacts and a history of meeting or exceeding targets.
n
- Well‐developed strategic thinking, planning, and proposal development capabilities.
n

Desirable Qualifications

- Sales methodology certifications (e.g., SPIN, TAS)
