Job Description
Senior Administration Officer (Medical Records)
n
Step into a 12-month opportunity leading Medical Records at Rockhampton Hospital, where your expertise will help shape how vital health information is managed, protected and used. You'll lead a team, strengthen systems, drive data quality and compliance, and turn opportunities for improvement into better ways of working across the hospital.
n As part of this role, you'll also be available to participate in the after-hours on-call roster when required, helping ensure the smooth management and coordination of the 24/7 Medical Records service.

Rockhampton Hospital provides a range of services to Rockhampton region. Our Destination 2030: Great Care for Central Queenslanders strategy will see Rockhampton Hospital developed as a centre for emergency care, medical inpatient and day surgery excellence. This will optimise outreach services to deliver care closer to home in the Rockhampton and rural communities.

About the role:
n
n
- Lead Medical Records operations at Rockhampton Hospital, overseeing records management, workflows, staffing, rosters and day-to-day service delivery.
n
- Protect data quality and integrity by analysing, validating and auditing health information.
n
- Drive compliance and best practice, ensuring health records are managed in line with Australian Standards, legislation, policies and quality and safety requirements.
n
- Develop and support staff,
coordinating competency training, performance management, KPIs, career development and continuous improvement across the Medical Records team.
n
- Build strong partnerships and improve systems, working with clinical, administrative, IT, coding, revenue and health information teams to improve processes, data accuracy, service quality and operational outcomes.
n

About you:
n
n
- Relevant qualifications or experience in Health Information Management, Clinical Documentation, Records Archiving or a Management would be highly desirable.
n
- Highly proficient with computer-based information systems, with the ability to work independently, use sound judgement and manage competing priorities.
n
- Experienced in leading staff within complex environments while fostering a positive, equitable, safe and ethical workplace.
n
- Committed to delivering quality client service, taking initiative and guiding a team to achieve work unit goals efficiently and effectively.
n

What we offer:

Total remuneration value of up to $118,172 p.a. is comprised of:
n
n
- An hourly rate between $47.41 - $52.23 p.h.
n
- 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
