Why This Role Is Different

This is more than just another sparky position. As a Leading Hand, you won't simply be given a set of drawings and left to get on with it. You will play a key role in delivering high-quality commercial projects while leading your team on site and working closely with project management.

Your involvement will include:

n

- Leading and mentoring a team of electricians and apprentices.
n
- Planning daily site activities to ensure projects remain on schedule.
n
- Coordinating with project managers, builders, and other trades.
n
- Reading and interpreting electrical drawings and specifications.
n




- Maintaining high standards of workmanship, safety, and productivity.
n
- Identifying site issues early and providing practical solutions.
n
- Assisting with commissioning, handovers, and project completion.
n
- Contributing ideas to improve site productivity, quality, and company systems.
n

What We Are Looking For

n

We are looking for an experienced Commercial Leading Hand Electrician who takes pride in delivering quality work and leading by example. This is not a stepping-stone role, it is an opportunity to build a long-term career with a growing South Australian business.

n

You will work closely with the Director and Project Managers while taking ownership of your sites, ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and to the highest standard.

n

The Right Candidate Will Have

n

n
- Current South Australian A-Class Electrical Licence.
n
- Proven experience as a Leading Hand or Senior Commercial Electrician on commercial construction projects.
n
- A minimum of 3–5 years' experience in commercial electrical installations.
n
- The ability to lead and coordinate a team of electricians and apprentices.
n
- Strong knowledge of commercial electrical systems and construction practices.
n
- The ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and specifications.
n
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the confidence to make practical decisions onsite.
n
- Strong communication skills with builders, project managers, clients, suppliers, and other trades.
n
- A proactive attitude with a strong focus on quality, productivity, and safety.
n




- Current Australian Driver's Licence.
n
- Full Australian working rights.
n

Highly Regarded

n

n
- Experience leading commercial projects from first fix through to commissioning.
n
- Experience with Simpro or similar job management software.
n
- Strong understanding of commercial construction programmes and project sequencing.
n
- Current White Card, EWP, Working at Heights, and First Aid certifications.
n
- Experience mentoring apprentices and developing team members.
n
