Job Description

Based at our Orange depot, you'll play a key role in keeping our heavy vehicle fleet running safely, efficiently, and reliably. This is a hands‐on, varied position involving scheduled servicing, fault‐finding, hydraulics, diagnostics, and breakdown repairs.

You'll work with a supportive team in a well‐equipped workshop where safety, quality workmanship, and teamwork come first.

The Role

What You'll Be Doing

n

n
- Carrying out scheduled servicing and preventative maintenance
n
- Diagnosing and repairing mechanical and hydraulic systems
n
- Attending to non‐routine and emergency repairs as required
n
- Completing accurate maintenance records and ensuring safety compliance
n
- Maintaining a clean, organised, and safe workshop
n
- Working collaboratively with other trades and supporting apprentices
n

What We're Looking For

n

n
- Trade‐qualified Heavy Vehicle Mechanic
n
- Proven experience working on heavy vehicles or fleet environments
n
- Strong diagnostic capability across mechanical and hydraulic systems
n
- HR driver's licence
n
- Sound understanding of WHS and NHVR requirements
n
- Ability to work independently, manage your time,



and prioritise workloads
n
- Strong problem‐solving skills and attention to detail
n

n

Experience in waste management or council fleet operations is an advantage, but not essential

n
